How to read two dental quotes line by line

Material per tooth, what is included, what is conditional, whether the total is final, who signs it.

A member got two quotes from the same clinic for the same mouth, £440 apart. Nothing is wrong with that, as long as you can see exactly what the £440 buys.

1. Material per tooth, not "premium"

Zirconia (monolithic or layered?), E-max, porcelain-fused-to-metal, composite. Each should be named per tooth. "Premium German materials" is not a material.

2. What is included

X-rays and 3D scan · temporary teeth · extractions · root canals · gum treatment · sedation · night guard · hotel nights (how many) · transfers · follow-up visit. Tick each one on both quotes.

3. What is conditional

Sinus lift and bone graft are the two most common "surprise" extras. They are legitimate when the CT scan shows insufficient bone, but a serious clinic tells you before you fly, from your X-ray, whether they are likely, and what they would cost.

4. Is the total final

Ask literally: "Is this the total I will pay if the plan does not change? What could change it?" The honest answer is "the plan can change if we find something on the day", and the honest follow-up is a written cap or the price of each possible addition.

5. Currency and payment

GBP, EUR or TRY? Deposit, refund terms, card or cash, card fee.

6. Who signs it

The quote should name the treating dentist. A quote from a coordinator with no dentist named is a sales document, not a treatment plan.
